Performance Classes
Information about the different performance classes
less than a minute
Network File Storage (2nd Gen) is available in two performance classes – Performance and High Performance. These differ primarily in terms of potential data throughput and achievable latency, and are each suited for different use cases.
Purchasing and scaling are done in 100 GB packages within a selected performance class – up to a maximum of 200 packages (equivalent to 20 TB) per volume.
Upgrades beyond this limit are only possible after consulting with plusserver Support.
| Package | Performance | High Performance |
|---|---|---|
| Throughput | 6.4 mbps per 100GB | 12.8 mbps per 100GB |
| Maximum Throughput per Volume | 1280 mbps | 2560 mbps |
| Technology | SSD | SSD |
| Protocol | NFSv4 | NFSv4 |
| Latency* | < 25 ms | < 3 ms |
| Storage capacity | Min 1000GB + 100GB steps | Min 1000GB + 100GB steps |
| IOPS per 100GB | 15000 | 15000 |
| Recomended usecase. | Applications and productive data | High performance data and VMs |
* Latency: Daily average while using the provided IPOS
Changing the Performance Class
You can adjust the performance class after deployment – up to once a day.
The change is made upon request via a service request to plusserver Support.
